History of Asif Ali Zardari
Another thing stated in his biography is, he has attended a British school named Pedinton. These are just written in the biographies written on Asif Ali Zardari but all his academic background and education is not yet so confirmed in the Britain. The issue of his diploma was contentious because a 2002 rule required candidates for Parliament to hold a college degree. He was married with the legend Benazir Bhutto in 1987 on 18th of December which was purely an arranged marriage done by the both families and all the ceremonies was done according to the culture of Pakistan. Benazir Bhutto attended political party professionally after her marriage with Asif Ali Zardari whereas, Zardari deferred to his wife’s wishes by agreeing to stay out of politics.
He has beard many legal issues and got arrested for doing corruption in 1996 following the collapse of the Bhutto government. He has been remained in the national Assembly in 1990 when he was elected and also has severed in the Senate in 1997. He then went into self-exile in Dubai, but after his exile period expired, Asif Ali Zardari returned to Pakistan in December of 2007 after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. At that time Asif Ali Zardari was the Co-Chairman of the PPP, and being the chairman he led his party to victory in the 2008 general elections. He spearheaded a coalition that forced General Pervez Musharraf to resign and was elected President on 6 September 2008. And Asif Ali Zardari is yet has got the position of president of Islamic republic of Pakistan.
The political career of Mister Asif Ali Zardari was much successful then he has now in 1983. But Asif Ali Zardari lost an election for a district council seat in Nawabshah which is a famous city of province Sindh, where his family owned thousands of acres of farmland. He then went into real estate business and got lot of assets. Many newspapers published an issue about Asif Ali Zardari for doing illegal activities and earning black money and The New York Times is one of those newspapers which has given a detailed report about the corruption of Asif Ali Zardari in 1998. The report discussed $200 million in kickbacks to Zardari and a Pakistani partner for a $4 billion contract with French military contractor Dassault Aviation, in a deal that fell apart only when the Bhutto government was dismissed. It had information from Pakistani investigators that the Bhutto family had allegedly accrued more than $1.5 billion in illicit profits through kickbacks in virtually every sphere of government activity. This major report was published in the month of the January of 1998 by The New York Times. In August 2003, a Swiss judge convicted Bhutto and Zardari of money laundering and sentenced them to six months imprisonment and a fine of $50,000.
During the time of 23th September to 26th September of 2008, Asif Ali Zardari has met many famous political personalities and foreign leaders after getting elected president of Pakistan. Although, at the United Nations General Assembly, he publicly condemned U.S drone attacks in Pakistan. According to a report published in 2005, Asif Ali Zardari was the 2nd richest person of Pakistan. And the recent report of 2012 tells that Asif Ali Zardari is yet the 2nd richest person of Pakistan with 1.8 billion dollar. His homes in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad are called Bilawal House I Bilawal House II and Zardari House respectively.
